Student Support

Student Affairs and Institutional Equity (SAIE) at NDSU exists to provide students with comprehensive services and co-curricular experiences. Funds for SAIE help students in times of need and provide a piece of “heart” at NDSU — going beyond the general business needs of students and providing them opportunities to come to NDSU, remain at NDSU, and be cared for while they are here.

Your Giving Day gift will support:

• Opportunity & Excellence Fund — to open doors to a world-class education, empowering the University to award scholarships based on the greatest needs of NDSU students and their families
• The Student Emergency Fund - The Student Emergency Fund exists to assists students by providing funds in times of crisis such as a medical emergency or death in the family that might otherwise prevent them from continuing their education.
• NDSU Food Security Fund - The Food Security Fund provides support to NDSU students who are experiencing hunger due to food insecurity and a lack of access to affordable nutritious food.
• Bison Bridge Program – Bison Bridge helps first-year students, who are first-generation or have a high financial need, transition from high school to college.
• Transition & Access Program – This inclusive college program serves students with developmental disabilities to attend college courses, earn meaningful credentials, gain employment experiences, and increase social and independent living skills

Additional Areas of Support

• Degree Completion Program Fund – NDSU’s degree completion program helps adults with prior college credits return and earn their bachelor’s degree. The fund supports students for whom finances are an obstacle to return to college.
• Study Abroad Scholarship Fund - Study Abroad is a high impact practice known to increase retention rates and grade point averages, while increasing real world career skills. This scholarships helps make study abroad experiences accessible to students who may otherwise not be able to afford it.
